What is Prop Firm Prime?
PropFirmPrime is an independent prop-firm research and comparison platform built to help traders find programs that fit their trading strategy and requirements.
We show you what we research, which programs appear strongest under our methodology and why.
Here, you can easily compare actual rules, pricing, drawdowns, payouts, platforms, restrictions, and more. We also show when important information about a firm and its programs was last checked. We track how a firm’s rules, pricing, and programs change over time.
How Does Prop Firm Prime Work?
Our team combines experienced traders focused on prop-firm research, rule analysis, verification, and market monitoring with technical and operations expertise covering website infrastructure, data systems, product development, and digital operations.
Collect
Our methodology starts with collecting all the data available on the internet from official sources and financial information.
Analyse
After collecting the data, we conduct our own analysis to identify and understand the firm’s details.
Cross-check
We also review independent trader experiences, public discussions, third-party reviews, and other available evidence to identify inconsistencies between advertised claims and reported experiences.
Contact the firm
After that, we contact the official firm to obtain all the details about them.
Our rankings are based on predefined criteria covering program value, trading conditions, risk structure, payout terms, transparency, operational track record and other relevant factors. The full criteria are set out on our methodology page.
Understanding Prop Firm Types Before You Choose
Not every prop firm funds traders the same way. Here’s a quick overview of the main types so you know what you’re comparing.
Evaluation Prop Firms
The traditional challenge model. You pay a fee, hit a profit target (usually 6%–12%), stay inside the daily loss and maximum drawdown limits, and pass to a funded account.
One-Step Prop Firms
A single evaluation phase with one profit target, usually 8%–10%. Fewer stages and faster funding, but the risk rules are often tighter.
Two-Step Prop Firms
The classic two-phase challenge. Phase 1 tests performance (8%–10%), Phase 2 tests consistency (4%–5%), then you’re funded. Rules vary significantly by firm and program, so these categories should be treated as broad models rather than fixed industry standards.
Instant Funding Prop Firms
No evaluation, no profit target. You get the account at checkout. But instant funding removes the challenge, not the rules: drawdown, consistency, news and payout conditions all apply from your first trade.
Futures Prop Firms
Focused on futures contracts like ES, NQ and CL, on platforms like NinjaTrader, Tradovate and Rithmic. Trailing drawdown is the rule that matters most here, and whether it updates end-of-day or intraday decides how hard the account really is.
Compare futures firmsForex & CFD Prop Firms
The largest group, covering currency pairs, indices, commodities, metals and crypto CFDs on MT4, MT5, cTrader and similar platforms. Instruments, leverage and execution vary a lot between firms, so always check before you buy.
Compare forex firmsSpecialised Prop Firms
Programmes built around specific styles: EA and algorithmic trading, scalping, swing trading, news trading and specific asset classes. These aren’t a separate industry category, just rule sets that suit some traders far better than others.
At PropFirmPrime, we compare every firm rule by rule, not by label, so you can find the right match for your strategy.
Choosing a Prop Firm: What Actually Matters
Most traders pick the easiest challenge. That’s the wrong question. Passing is the part you control. Getting paid is the part the firm controls.
Can the firm survive?
How long has it operated? Is there a verifiable operating history, credible payout evidence, identifiable ownership, transparent terms, and a clearly documented trading infrastructure?
Watch the warning pattern
Slowing payouts, tightening rules, a sudden rebrand, quiet support, a falling review score. These can be warning signals worth investigating, but none should be treated as proof that a firm will fail.
Read the payout terms first
Search the terms for payout, withdrawal, termination, forfeit and discretion. Read those before the profit target. That’s where your money is won or lost.
Match the drawdown to your strategy
Static and end-of-day drawdown are manageable. Intraday trailing follows every tick of unrealised profit and punishes swing traders. This matters more than 1-step vs 2-step.
Confirm your style is allowed in writing
News windows, minimum trade duration, weekend holding, EA rules. Automation permissions are often platform-specific, so check your platform, not just the firm.
Do the consistency math
If no single day can exceed 30% of total profit, work out what that means for how you trade. A consistency rule can materially affect payout eligibility, especially for traders whose profits are concentrated in a small number of trading days.
Compare real cost, not the sticker price
Add activation fees, reset costs and payout waiting times. And treat huge permanent discounts as a warning, not a bargain.
Withdraw regularly
Unwithdrawn profit is not your money yet.
At PropFirmPrime, we check all of this for you and show you when we last verified it. Start with the full firm directory.

FAQs
How does PropFirmPrime verify payout, pricing, and account rules information?
First, we verify trader payouts by connecting with them on social media and forums where they share payout proofs. Then, we review Trustpilot for further clarification and conduct our own analysis of each platform.
After gathering this information, our team conducts an independent analysis of each prop firm, including its pricing, account rules, trading conditions, payout policies, and overall reputation. Only after completing this research and verification process do we list the prop firm on PropFirmPrime.
What happens when we cannot independently verify a prop firm’s claim?
When we cannot independently verify a claim, we identify the information as unverified or source-reported rather than presenting it as confirmed fact.
What does “verified” mean on PropFirmPrime?
‘Verified’ means our team has reviewed the firm’s available official documentation and supporting evidence across defined data points, with the verification date shown on the firm’s profile. Verification does not mean we guarantee a firm’s future performance, solvency, or payout.
Before verifying a firm, we review important details such as payout history, years in operation, account sizes, challenge criteria, trading rules, trader feedback, and reviews from both beginner and experienced traders, along with other relevant information.
How can traders request a correction from us?
You can contact us through our Contact Us page or email us at support@propfirmprime.com
Why can our information differ from a prop firm’s marketing page?
Our information may differ from a prop firm’s marketing page because we follow our own independent methodology when researching and verifying each firm. We do not simply rely on promotional content provided by prop firms. Instead, we review the actual terms, rules, trading conditions, and other relevant information so traders can see what a firm is offering rather than being influenced by temporary promotions or marketing claims.
Do we consider both positive and negative trader experiences?
Yes. We consider both positive and negative trader experiences, while evaluating the context, evidence, recency, and consistency of the reports rather than relying on individual reviews alone.
Do we ever remove or downgrade a prop firm from its rankings?
We may remove or downgrade a prop firm if our research, verification, or ongoing monitoring identifies significant issues or changes in its performance, rules, payouts, or reputation.
What prop firm rules can prevent a trader from receiving a payout?
Breaking daily loss or maximum drawdown limits, violating trailing drawdown rules, failing consistency or minimum trading-day requirements, breaching news or weekend trading restrictions, using prohibited EAs or trade-copying methods, violating restricted trading strategies, exceeding position or lot-size limits, failing payout-specific requirements, breaching account or KYC requirements, violating the firm’s terms of service, using prohibited arbitrage or exploitation strategies, or submitting incorrect payout information.
How does a prop firm’s drawdown model affect your trading strategy?
Static drawdown has a fixed limit, while trailing drawdown moves up as your account grows. This makes the drawdown model important for risk management and strategy selection.
Why should traders compare prop firm programs rather than only comparing prop firms’ brands?
Because the same prop firm can offer programs with different fees, drawdown, payout rules, and trading restrictions. The program determines your actual trading conditions and payout potential.
