Take Profit Trader Review

United StatesUnited States Since 2021 Futures only Live markets on PRO+

Built around one promise: get your money out fast. Two things qualify it: the drawdown switches from end-of-day to intraday once you are funded, and "day-one payouts" only start after you clear a buffer equal to your full drawdown.

Quick overview

  • Structure: Test → PRO → PRO+, a one-step evaluation with a live-market tier at the top
  • Test: 6% profit target, 50% consistency, five minimum trading days, no time limit
  • No daily loss limit during the Test, so a rough session cannot end your evaluation
  • Splits: 80/20 on PRO, 90/10 on PRO+ with live execution
  • Sizes: $25,000 to $150,000
  • No payout cap which is unusual and genuinely useful once you are past the buffer
  • Pass rate: 16.86% in 2024, one of the lowest published figures in the sector
Our take

The rulebook is lighter than most futures firms and the payout philosophy is honest, with no cap, no consistency rule once funded and money out fast. What keeps our score at 4.2 is the drawdown switch. Passing the Test under end-of-day drawdown teaches you nothing about surviving PRO, where the same account trails intraday. If the drawdown stayed EOD throughout, this would be a top-three futures firm. Go in knowing your funded account is stricter than the one you passed on.

  • Roughly five in six buyers never pass the evaluation, by the firm's own data
  • Sources conflict on whether a daily loss limit applies at some sizes. Most say none, while one lists $1,100 on a 50K. Check your plan page

The drawdown switch: read this before buying

  • During the Test, drawdown is end-of-day trailing: recalculated once at the close, based on your highest closing balance. Intraday swings do not move it
  • On the funded PRO account it becomes intraday trailing: every tick of unrealised profit moves your floor up behind you
  • In both stages the trailing drawdown locks permanently once it reaches your original starting balance
  • PRO+ returns to end-of-day trailing, so the strictest stage sits in the middle
  • This is the most common reason accounts fail here. A strategy with large unrealised swings can clear the Test comfortably and then breach on PRO without trading any differently
  • Independent reviewers name it as the firm's single biggest weakness, and one notes TPT would otherwise be a top-three futures firm

PRO+90 / 10EOD trailingNoneNoneLive
  • No consistency rule once funded the 50% rule applies only to the Test
  • PRO+ removes the buffer entirely and executes on live markets at 90/10
  • Upgrading to PRO+ freezes $5,000 of your PRO profit during the process; anything above that stays withdrawable
  • A PRO+ account can be moved to PRO+ Development if the firm sees aggressive sizing or rapid drawdowns it wants corrected
  • The Test runs on a monthly subscription; PRO activation is around $130 and is frequently waived by promotions

When can you actually withdraw?

"Day-one payouts" is true only above the buffer, which equals your full maximum drawdown. Enter your size and balance to see where you stand.

Buffer threshold$52,000
Withdrawable profit$0
Your 80% share$0

05

How payouts actually move

  • No minimum wait on PRO withdrawals, so once you are above the buffer you can request
  • Tradovate PRO transfers to the TPT wallet can complete in five to ten seconds after validation
  • Wallet approval and delivery by bank, Wise or PayPal run on separate timing
  • No payout cap at any size
  • Use the dashboard figure after its daily update rather than your own intraday mental maths
  • Rithmic PRO transfers, PRO+, cancelled and some archived accounts sit in the manual processing path, so the fast rail does not apply to everyone
  • Profits earned during the Test are simulated and cannot be withdrawn at all
06

Fees and terms that surprise people

  • Withdrawals under $250 incur a $50 fee which is 20% on a $250 request. Batch your withdrawals
  • Terminating a PRO account pays only 50% of eligible buffer profit at 60 trading days or fewer, and 80% after that
  • The $5,000 freeze on upgrading to PRO+ catches people mid-transition
  • All payouts require approval before reaching the wallet, so build that step into your timing

FAQ

Is Take Profit Trader legit?

Yes. It has been operating since 2021, futures-only, with well-documented payout mechanics and a public pass rate. It is one of the more transparent firms about how withdrawals work.

Are payouts really available from day one?

Only above the buffer. A $50,000 PRO account must reach $52,000 before a normal 80/20 withdrawal is possible. Below that, nothing is available regardless of how you traded.

Is there a consistency rule on funded accounts?

No. The 50% rule applies to the Test only. Once funded, one big day cannot hold up a payout.

What is the catch with the drawdown?

It changes type between stages. End-of-day during the Test, intraday trailing on PRO, then back to end-of-day on PRO+. The middle stage is the strictest.

What does PRO+ change?

Live market execution, a 90/10 split, no buffer and end-of-day drawdown. The upgrade freezes $5,000 of your PRO profit while it processes.

Who should skip it?

Traders who carry large unrealised drawdown intraday, because the PRO stage will punish that. Forex and CFD traders, since this is futures only. Anyone who wants to withdraw small amounts often, given the $50 fee under $250.

Verify this yourself

The buffer and the drawdown switch are the two things worth confirming on the firm's own pages before you buy anything.

Built PropFirmPrime and the buffer calculator on this page.

  • Confirmed the drawdown type at each stage across four independent sources
  • Recorded buffer thresholds by account size and how they gate the first withdrawal
  • Documented the $50 fee under $250 and the account-termination payout table
  • Recorded the published 16.86% pass rate and its measurement year
  • We have not traded a funded TPT account, so nothing here claims first-hand execution experience
  • Sources disagree on whether a daily loss limit applies at some sizes; we could not resolve it
  • Buffer figures are mapped to the sizes we could verify; confirm yours on the plan page

Risk note. Test and PRO accounts are simulated; only PRO+ executes on live markets. An evaluation fee is a cost rather than an investment, and the firm's own data shows 16.86% of traders passed in 2024, so roughly five in six did not. Verified 4 September 2026; check the live rules page before buying. PropFirmPrime earns commission on some links, which never changes our score.
